It’s that time of year again, and I will be back at Dragoncon. You can find me in the Art Show at my cover artist’s table. Check out some of the exciting things that she’ll have over at her facebook page. You can come pick up copies of the Winston & Baum Steampunk Adventures, as well as my other books.
Also, keep checking back throughout Labor Day weekend (starting on Saturday) to see what Kindle specials I’ll be running during the convention. Thanks for stopping by and keep checking back.
Winston & Baum and the Secret of the Stone Circle received a 4-star review from Amazon reviewer ZapJ who wrote: “This Victorian steampunk adventure tale starring a tough as nails American fighter (with a heart of gold) and an Englishman inventor (equally adventurous and endearing). They make their living traveling the countryside ridding human habitations of elves, goblins and other various boggles. Queen Victoria calls on them to assist in a great undertaking and the story flies from there (not on wings, but by dirrigible airship). Great characters; great story; and for those new to the steampunk millieu – an easy introduction to this inventive little corner of sci-fi. This is the first of a series and I will defiantly be reading the others.”
Thanks ZapJ! If any of you have read my books or short stories, leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads.com. You can click on the cover below to pick up your copy of Winston & Baum and the Secret of the Stone Circle and keep checking back to see what else I’m up to.
Steampunk Expo was this past weekend, and we had a great time. A big thank you to everyone that came by and picked up a book, some art, or just stopped to talk for a little bit.
Even though it was a small show, it was incredibly well run and a lot of fun. A lot of great artists and vendors were there. Below are just a few of the highlights .
We got to hang out with the tea maven of Dryad Tea. If you are a tea lover you should check out her stuff at http://dryadtea.com/. She has a massive variety of teas. My wife is a big fan of her chai teas.
For the heavier drinkers out there make your own special brews of absinthe with the flavors at http://www.leloupgaroualchemy.com/. They have a wide variety and import their wormwood for a true, authentic absinthe.
We got to meet the members of the Dark Princess Theatre. They had some really good tales of supernatural events in the Chattanooga area, and I can’t wait to get started listening to their podcast. You can find them at http://www.darkprincesstheatre.com/.
One of our neighbors was artist Eddie Price (www.eddieprice.net). Go check out his site and pick up some really cool comic art, or one of his handmade 3-d pieces, which are incredible to see in person.
Steampunk author Geoffrey Mandragora was there with his Thunderbolt Chronicles series. Check out his books on his Amazon page here.
We also got to see some of our friends that we haven’t seen for a little while.
If Steampunk Expo will have us, Caralyn and I will be back next year for another fun, steam-driven convention at the Chattanooga Choo Choo.
Hello everyone. This weekend, I will be back in Chattanooga, TN for Steampunk Expo. The show starts on Friday, April 15th, and will run through Sunday.
I’ll be sharing a booth with my wife and cover artist. If you are in the area, or just attending the show, drop by and pick up a book and some fun art or just say hello. Hope to see you there.
My apologies to everyone for taking so long to post here, but life has been busy to say the least. Connooga was a blast. It was a lot of fun, and I got to be part of some exceptional panels. A big thanks to Chad Sides, who runs the horror track for having me back, and creating a killer lineup of panels. I always enjoy going to shows and getting to meet people.
It’s because of that reason that I’ll be returning to Chattanooga next month for Steampunk Expo from April 15-17. I won’t be doing any panels at this show, but I will be there with my cover artist (www.mysticreflections.com). So for you fans of steampunk, this event should be right up your alley. Stop by and see what it’s all about.
Also in April, I will be back at the Hiram Bookstore for a signing. It will be Saturday, April 9th from 5-8. The flyer is below, so print them out and share with your friends, or post them on your favorite social media site. Either way, hope to see you sometime in April.
Thanks for stopping by and keep coming by to find out what I’ll be up to next.
Hey everyone, I hope your first month of 2016 has gone well. I’ve been busy and just wanted to give everyone a heads-up about what’s been happening.
The short story that I promised will be released between Winston & Baum books 3 & 4 is finished (first draft only). It is part of a series that started with Brackish’s story in the back of Winston & Baum and the Disk of Night. I am calling them the Tales of the Hunters. Each of them will focus on hunters from the Winston & Baum world. They are characters that you’ve met, but I wanted to explore other hunters and adventures set in this world. So, the first of these is drafted. I’ve finished the rough draft of the fourth Winston & Baum steampunk adventure (still no title yet). I’m mostly done with the rough drafts of the other two stories in the hunters series, which will follow book 4.
Last year was a steam-driven adventure for sure. I was able to go to more conventions and meet more people. I’ll be going back to Connooga in February. I’ll post my panel schedule when the show is closer, but if you can, please come out and see my talented wife & cover artist and myself. It’s always nice to meet you wonderful people.
Once I’m done with the other two hunter shorts, I’m going to write something else. I don’t know what yet, but just something to cleanse my palette before I head back to the world of Winston & Baum for the fifth novel.
Thanks for reading and keep stopping by to see what I’ll be up to next.
Winston & Baum and the Disk of Night is now available in print. I’ve dropped signed copies off at Hiram Books in Hiram, Ga. with more to follow at the Bookworm in Powder Springs next week. If you don’t want to wait, you can order a copy directly from Amazon by clicking the cover below.
This is the third book in the Winston & Baum Steampunk Adventure series and would make a great addition to any library. An added bonus is the short story Brackish & the Sleeping Maidens found at the back of this book. Brackish Thumtum, the goblin assistant of Winston & Baum, stars in his very own adventure. Thanks for checking in and hope you all have a merry and bright holiday season. Keep checking back for more fun to come!
Out today, the third Winston & Baum Steampunk Adventure: Winston & Baum and the Disk of Night. It’s only available on the Kindle for now, but the paperback will soon be following.
Synopsis: Dan Winston & Lee Baum, the premier monster-exterminating duo of England, find themselves called to America. Billy Hoffster Johnson, a Texas cattle baron and former client of Dan’s, arrives with news that a group of skinwalkers, long dead, are once again menacing his ranch and have murdered famed monster hunter and Dan’s friend, Pecos Slim. The medicine man that revived these villains seems to be after more than their blood. When a strange black disk is uncovered, bringing with it unholy magic, Dan and Lee are all that stand between the evil man and the chaos surrounding the dark artifact. With their very souls on the line, can the exterminators of the strange and weird rise to the challenge?
Also included in this volume, Brackish Thumtum, everyone’s favorite goblin, stars in his own solo adventure: Brackish & the Sleeping Maidens.

Thanks for reading and keep checking back for more updates on where I’ll be and what I’m up to.
Hello all, tomorrow I will be at Dragoncon. As always, I will be attending with my lovely and talented wife in the art show. Since she is also my cover artist, I will have some copies of my books for sale at her table. As followers of my blog, you may be aware of Lollipop Jones & Pecan Sandie. For those of you who prefer to have a book rather than read a webpage or for those of you who just like rare things; from now on I will be carrying The Case Files of Lollipop Jones & Pecan Sandie Volume 1 in print. This volume will only be available from me at shows and is not available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or any other book retailer. So, if you swing by the table, you can get what is sure to be a priceless collector’s item for only $5. My novels will be available at the Dragoncon rate of $10. Come by and pick up some awesome art (like these little steampunk guys), grab a book, or just stop by and say hello.
If you aren’t attending Dragoncon but will be attending the Decatur Book Festival this Labor Day weekend, please stop by and see Jay & Katie Barber and pick up their fun books. Thanks all, I’m sure I’ll have a wrap-up post after Dragoncon.
* Please note: The Case Files of Lollipop Jones & Pecan Sandie Volume 1 may not become a priceless collector’s item.
Timegate was this weekend and we had a fantastic time getting to meet lots of great new people. To welcome those of you new to my site, I am offering a free kindle e-short. For those of you that may not have attended Timegate, it is a Doctor Who (and British Scifi) convention. I do not write Doctor Who, but I do have a Victorian Occult Investigator, Richard Rex. For all of Tuesday (May 26th) click on the image below and collect your free kindle short: Richard Rex & the Succubus of Whitechapel.
I hope all you Timegaters (the convention goers, not alligators of time) enjoy the story, as well as any other readers that pick up a copy. If you do, please leave a review on amazon, goodreads, or any other book review site. Thanks for reading and keep checking back to see what I’m working on.
