I figured that people might get tired of just having me talk about movies that I love, and that brings us here to my first book recommendation for this October. Do you love zombies? If so, do you like when people try new things with them? What about a zombie plague that isn’t just singled out for humans? It is for this reason that I’m suggesting Brian Keene’s The Rising. One of the best zombie novels I’ve ever read, Keene does something completely new with the shambling dead. These are not your shambling undead or even the sprinting variety. These rotting fiends are intelligent and can use vehicles and tools. Another fun thing is that zombies aren’t just people. You’ll see a zombie lion, birds, and deer in this story. He also explains where these zombies come from, and it is truly terrifying.
When I first read this book, I started and finished it in the same day. I could not put it down. If you love zombies and aren’t sure what to make of a currently saturated market, pick up this book for a great, new experience. Click on the cover below to pick up a copy and read the synopsis below.
